Step-by-step installation guide

PixelPin Connect is a Magento 1 Extension for authenticating with PixelPin using the OAuth 2.0 API using OpenID Connect Endpoints.

PixelPin Connect allows you to connect your website to PixelPin and let users authenticate using passwordless pictures. With PixelPin Connect extension your clients log in to your store using their PixelPin pictures. There is no need to complete numerous forms for a successful registration.

To complete the installation, you'll need to create your PixelPin developer account.

Download the module

  1. Click on the link to download the PixelPin Connect module.

Installation

  1. Go to the downloaded PixelPin Connect extension folder and copy the app and skin folders.

  2. Then merge the two folders into your Magento 1 website root directory with the existing app and skin folders.

  3. Then log into your admin dashboard and hover over System on the nav bar then click on cache management.

  4. Click on Select All on the far left then click on the Submit button on the far right.

  5. PixelPin Connect should now be installed. Next we'll enable the plugin.

Enabling the module

  1. From the admin dashboard hover over System on the nav bar then click on Configuration.

  2. In the sidebar under CUSTOMERS click on Customer Configuration.

  3. Find the PixelPin Connect Options dropdown and click on it.

  4. Set the Enabled dropdown menu to Yes.

  5. You'll need the Redirect URI to create a developer account to get your Client ID and Client Secret, so highlight and copy the Redirect URI now. If you haven't created a PixelPin developer account before, a guide can be found here to guide you through the steps to create a PixelPin developer account. Sometimes your site may have index.php added to your base url so your redirect URI will be fore example: http://local.magento.co.uk/index.php/connect/pixelpin/connect.

  6. Once you've obtained your Client ID and Client Secret after creating a PixelPin developer account, type/paste them into the Client ID and Client Secret fields.

  7. This step is optional. If you require your users to enter their password when changing their personal information, you'd want to change the first dropdown box to yes to allow PixelPin users to change their personal information using PixelPin since they don't have a password.

If you want PixelPin to update the user's information every time they sign in using PixelPin, you'd want to change the second dropdown box to yes.

  8. Lastly press Save Config on the top right.
